According to a recent report by the BBC, half of the state-funded schools in England for children with special educational needs and disabilities are oversubscribed, with some students being taught in cupboards due to a lack of space.
In response to this, Hugh Viney, our founder and CEO, has spoken out, stating that online schooling could be the answer to plug this gap. With no physical facilities required and smaller class sizes, online schooling can be tailored to suit the individual needs of children, which is particularly important for those with additional needs or disabilities.
We have already seen the transformational effects of online schooling, and we know that this could be the solution to give every child the opportunity to learn in an environment suited to them. We need the support of the wider education community to ensure that online learning is considered as a viable alternative to traditional schooling, particularly for children who are struggling to access the education they need.
