School doesn’t begin and end in the classroom. At Minerva Virtual Academy, we believe school is more than lessons and grades — it’s about growing up, finding your voice, and preparing for what comes next.
That’s why MVA is designed to support every part of a student’s journey — both in and far beyond the classroom.
As Ofsted noted, wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do.
Every student at MVA has a dedicated 1:1 mentor, with weekly sessions to check in, stay focused, and feel supported. But our approach to wellbeing goes further.
Our weekly 45-minute Wellbeing Sessions equip students with the tools to understand themselves, manage emotions, build resilience, and develop confidence — skills that matter long after school ends.
Life can be a rocky road. We aim to make sure our students are ready for it.
What use is knowledge without confidence? Or skills without space to use them?
Our Enrichment Weeks are designed to give students time to stretch their creativity, solve real-world challenges, and strengthen friendships — all while having fun.
Each one is different: past weeks have included expert guest talks, collaborative projects, field trips, and creative competitions.
The only constant? Students always surprise themselves.
Every student eventually moves on, whether they return to traditional school or stay with us through A Levels.
The Careers & Futures Programme makes sure they’re ready for whatever comes next.
Students explore their strengths, passions, and career interests. They also learn practical skills like CV writing, interview prep, and decision-making — and hear directly from people working in industries they care about.
We believe success looks different for every child. We’re here to help them find their version.
MVA was built so students could enjoy school again, not just survive it.
That means nurturing the whole person, not just the academic side. It means giving students the space to learn who they are, what they’re good at, and what they care about, in and out of the classroom.
That’s what school should be.
