We are delighted to announce our latest partnership with the Manchester International Football Academy.
Since its foundation in 2011, MIFA has welcomed players from over 80 countries, all of whom have a passion to progress their football careers. MIFA has throughout been able to offer language courses and BTEC programmes to these students, and this educational partnership now enables the academy to extend its education programme to include an IGCSE and A Level curriculum.
Starting this upcoming academic year, a number of MIFA students will already benefit from the flexibility provided and continue with their education around the training and match programme offered at the academy.
Elite Athlete Education Officer Fabian Spiess said - 'Private football academies have traditionally found it very challenging to offer qualifications other than short courses, languages courses or a BTEC to their students due to logistical challenges behind students studying different courses. Through the flexibility of online learning, the reduced number or hours in the classroom and access to recordings of all lessons, MVA is a perfect solution which allows academies the expand their programmes and therefore also appeal to a wider audience of students. MIFA has been forward thinking with their approach and it's a pleasure to partner with them to help develop and educate their students off the pitch.
Hannah, academy administrator at MIFA said - 'We are delighted to partner with Minerva’s Virtual Academy. MIFA has allowed young, aspirational footballers over the past 11 years, the opportunity to experience English football and move forward. For us, education is vital for continued development. Our partnership with Minerva allows our players the flexibility to attend a full time training programme, receiving high level coaching, whilst also working towards their qualifications within a contemporary and vibrant academy. Through a shared personable approach, we hope to help young people move forward, within their football, education and life.
