MVA 2025 Spring Roadshow Wants YOU

MVA is on tour, we’re off to a roaring success.

CEO Hugh Viney and School Principal Suzanne Lindley are travelling up and down the country meeting students, parents and teachers in a bid to connect, cooperate and set out the vision for MVA’s future over the coming year.

Already, over 150 families have met up in London and Exeter, with some incredible conversations and moments along the way.

We’ve had long-time friends meeting face-to-face for the first time. We’ve had families finding out who in the MVA community lives nearby. And we’ve had feedback that has been equal parts hard-hitting and heartwarming.

And we want more!

Minerva’s Virtual Academy has grown and changed since its founding, and as it continues to do so, we want its direction to be shaped by the people it’s for – you.

Do you want more trips?

Is there a subject you’d like us to start offering?

Is there a club we could set up in the coming months?

Is there a part of the student experience that we could improve?

MVA has proven that online education works with official accreditation from Ofsted and the DfE last year. Now we want to make it the best it can possibly be, and we can’t do that without you.

We also need your support in changing education at large, not just within the confines of Minerva.

Online education has come a long way, and we’re on the precipice of government recognition of the good it can do for children pushed out of the mainstream education system.

Your voices are a vital part of how we present ourselves as we make this final push.

We truly believe that MVA is the leading online school, and our community is one of the crucial things that makes that difference.

We still have three more stops on the Roadshow to go in Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, with a fourth stop in Malaga to be announced.

If you’d like to ask Hugh and Suzanne any questions you have in person and get them answered on the spot, meet and connect with the families near you, and simply be a part of MVA’s future, please check your email for an invite or get in touch if you don’t have one.

If you join us, here’s what you can expect on the day:

You and other MVA families from your local area will gather in a beautiful venue (so far we’ve had an Indian restaurant with delicious food in London, and a stunning vineyard in Exeter) and will be given some time to settle in and say hello.

Then Hugh and Suzanne will welcome you all and lay out the plan for the day, followed by lunch where everyone can mingle, make friends, and chat to the MVA team.

After lunch is the feedback session, where you’ll be invited to share your thoughts on MVA, positive and negative, as well as ask Hugh and Suzanne any questions you may have for them.

All of this feedback will be collected anonymously, and Hugh and Suzanne will answer as many of the questions as possible on the day, will all of the feedback being taken back to HQ regardless – everything is taken on board.

Then you’ll have some time for drinks, relaxing and, if you like, you can speak to our media team about your experience.

By the end, we hope you’ll leave feeling like part of a much closer and more connected community.

Here’s a snippet from one of our parents who came the Exeter event:

“I am ever so grateful to MVA. I don't feel as isolated myself now. Thursday was the first time I'd met other families with children learning online in person. It really felt like the community that we haven't had for years. I came home feeling like I'd attended a family wedding!”

With a growing list of stops still to visit, we sincerely hope to see you soon!
